Since then, I've had a look at some link checking tools and stumbled across this Fast Link Checker, which allows 30 days of free trial - easily enough time to quickly check your links are in order.

The program runs like a search engine spider, gradually crawling your site (depending on the options you set), highlighting any broken links you have. Running the program highlighted a bunch of other 'little' problems that need a quick tweak...
